Kerala Blasters beat FC Pune City by 2-1
Kerala Blasters beat FC Pune City by 2-1 and move closer to securing a spot in top four.Blasters beat Pune by 2-1 at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Kochi.
The goals were scored Duckens Nazon (7’) and Aaron Hughes (57’) for Kerala Blasters and Anibal(94′) for Pune.The win takes Kerala to the third spot, level on points with second placed Atletico de Kolkata but Pune City’s chances of making it into the top four appear slim as they head to Kolkata for their final match.
Blasters were dominating the game in all perceptive,the blasters were attacking the Pune defense constantly as a result they got a brilliant opportunity which was finished well by Duckens Nazon at 7th minute of the game.
The chances were flooding for Blasters but they were not able to find that final touch and Pune were also attacking but the Blasters back line was holding still and Pune never find a clear on goal chance.
Blasters were looking extremely dangerous on the counter, with the pace Belfort, Nazon and Vineeth.Habas’ side were seeing more of the ball midway through the first half but looked short of ideas in attack with most long balls and crosses aimed at Zurdo easily dealt with by Hengbart and Hughes.
The visitors had a great chance to equalise in the 37th minute when Kerala defense failed to clear a cross from the left wing properly. Zurdo took advantage and stood a cross up to the far post but Arata kicked the ball out of the net under pressure.
The second half was no different from first half as the home side were dominating the game, a corner in the 57th minute was only partially cleared by Pune and Vineeth chased it down on the left and volleyed a first time cross and Huge headed home to extent the lead to 2-0.
Anibal Zurdo managed to pull one back for the visitors in the second stoppage time but it was a case of too little too late.And the game ended in 2-1 win for Kerala.
