The game ended in a 1-1 draw as both teams gain a point each and City successfully qualifying for Last 16.But it was not a sweet gamee for City as we can see a lot of defensive holes in city’s back line and Pep need to fix it as soon as possible.
The goals were scored by Silva (45’+1 minutes), Fernandinho ( 63′ minutes) and Raffael (23′ minutes), Stindl (51′ minutes) for Borussia Monchengladbach.
The first goal was scored by Raffael for Monchengladbach as his 15-yard shot past Claudio Bravo from a central position. But Silva scored the leveled the score line from de Bruyne’s low cross just before half time.
Fernandinho and Stindl were send of by the referee due to rash challenge. The game failed to open up in the final half-hour and both teams did not live up to expectation.
“I’m happy to be there in the last 16. We have qualified with one game left and it’s a big compliment for the team, for the whole stage. In general we made a good performance”-Pep Guardiola said.
