Mumbai City FC beat Chennaiyin FC by 2-0
Mumbai city FC became the first team to qualify for Indian Super League season three playoffs as they defeated Chennaiyin FC 2-0 at the Mumbai Football Arena on Wednesday evening .
Goals from Defederico and Vadocz helped the home team for a comfprtable win over the visitors. Alexandre Guimaraes made no changes to the starting line-up with Sunil Chhetri, Matias Defederico and Diego Forlan leading the line.While John Arne Riise, Jayesh Rane and Harmanjot Khabra started for Marco Materazzi’s side.
The home side created couple of decent chances in the first half and was the most creative side on the pitch. Mumbaikars took the lead in the first half, could have scored more if they have converted their chances.
The teams went for the break with the mumbaikars leading . The second half was a much better one as the away side saw lot of the ball , but failed to threaten the mumbai side. Mumbai extended their lead at the hourmark and managed to hold on to the lead.
Mumbai continued their impressive run with consecutive win on home soil while Chennaiyin FC’s woes on the road continued as they have won just once in six games on the road.
