Mumbai City FC beat NorthEast United by 1-0
Mumbai beat North East by 1-0 as the goal from Jackichand Singh at the end of first half provided the visitors with three point.
North East vs Mumbai game with little joy as there were not any big chances for both teams despite some, the hosts had two missed chances near the half hour mark.
We all taught the first half will end in a goalless draw but just like last game ie game between Kerala and Delhi the pressure from Mumbai forced a defensive error which was punished by Jackichand Singh with a goal.
The second half was more lively and both team looked aggressive after the half time talk,Seityasen Singh came on for the home side, replacing Sumeet Passi on the right wing, off from a lengthy time on the sidelines. Sehnaj Singh was brought on for Anwar Ali for Mumbai.
Mumbai were blocking all the efforts from North East to find an equaliser soon Northeast players become frustrated especially Katsumi Yusa,he lost his calm after left back Sena Ralte pushed the Japanese and the team personnel entered the field, turning it into some ghetto brawl. Guimaraes too got involved and things got ugly when Zokora pushed Ralte.
All three walked straight into the referee’s bookings and surprisingly no marching orders were awarded.
Three home losses on the spin meant that semi-finals dream fading away for the hosts, Mumbai City FC open up a two points lead at the top of the table with fifteen on the board.
