Huawei confirms octacore smartphones
Huawei has confirmed that they will use new octacore processors in their Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro smartphones.
Huawei is all set to launch its Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro smartphones. The China company has teased has started teasing phablets online. Recently, the Chinese tech company had posted the launch date and time for the new devices. And now, it has posted a short video confirming the processor that will power the Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Pro.
The company the smartphones will be powered by the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor, which is claimed to be 18% more powerful than the octa-core Kirin 950 that came in the Huawei Mate 8.
Huawei launched its Kirin 960 processor last week in China. The processor has 8-cores of which four are 2.4GHz ARM Cortex A73 cores and the other four are 1.8GHz Cortex A53 cores. The company even pitted its new processor against the Apple A10 Fusion, which powers the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. As per Huawei, while the A10 Fusion was faster in single-core performance, the Kirin 960 performed better in multi-core test.
As per the invites sent by Huawei, the handsets are scheduled to launch on November 3 at an event in Munich, Germany.
Recently, both the Huawei Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Pro were leaked in images online. While the Mate 9 is said to feature a flat screen, the Mate 9 Pro will sport a dual-curved display.
