Mumbai City FC Sign Thiago Cunha
Mumbai City FC has signed Brazilian striker Thiago Cunha as a replacement for Gaston Sangoy.
Sangoy’s replacement, the 31-year-old Thiago Cunha, has recorded nearly 50 appearances in the last two seasons of his senior club career. He has scored 57 goals from 2012 with Thai Port FC this year and Chonburi FC before that.
The Brazilian has represented the likes of Palmeiras and Santa Cruz and featured in the Brazilian Serie A besides the AFC Champions League, also winning the 2011 Brazilian Pernambucano State Championship and the 2010 Brazilian Paraibano State Championship.
Commenting on the replacement Mumbai City FC head coach Alexandre Guimaraes said, “While losing Gaston to injury was a big blow, in Thiago we have found a great replacement. He has a brilliant goal scoring record and we are confident he is going to be a big asset to the club in the remainder of the season.”
