Jio becomes the slowest 4G service

According to Ookla’s speedtest report, Jio has the slowest 4G network in India.

Ookla, maker of Speedtest app, had recently published a report that revealed Reliance Jio‘s speed has continuously fallen. The report said that Jio’s mean download speed across the country is 8.77Mbps. The network has registered a 23 per cent drop in speed month-over-month.

The reports say Airtel has the fastest 4G with about 11.4 Mbps with Reliance at second with 7.9Mbps. Reliance Jio has recorded an average speed of 6.2Mbps across the country.


The graph for average upload speed shows Idea to have it the best at 4.1Mbps with Vodafone on second at 4.0Mbps. Jio does a little better than Reliance with average upload speed at 2.4Mbps.

The portal also offers some interesting insights into Reliance Jio’s network. The bigger part of the portal shows the map of India. The map is coloured according to state-wise average speed.

The map shows that Reliance Jio customers in Jammu and Kashmir are getting the best Jio speed across the country. The portal has recorded 11.179Mbps average speed in J&K. The worst average speed is in Kerala at 3.740Mbps.

Similarly, J&K also recorded the best average upload speed at 3.487Mbps, while Kerala recorded the worst average upload speed at 1.429Mbps.
