Chelsea to bring Belgian forward Yannick Carrasco?
Chelsea are looking to strengthen their attack at the end of this season and have already identified potential targets.Daily Mirror have confirmed that Antonio Conte is looking to sign the Belgian forward Yannick Ferreira Carrasco.
The attacking midfielder only moved to the Spanish side last summer on a lovely five-year deal. But the former Monaco man is already having another new contract waved under his nose in an effort to raise the current £35m trigger on his transfer negotiations.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich has made it crystal clear to gaffer Antonio Conte that he will be backed with funds in the coming transfer windows – especially after the gulf in class between his side and Premier League title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool was made clear in early defeats.
Like most of the players who work under Diego Simeone, Carrasco is reportedly very happy in Madrid and not angling for a move.
But Atletico are usually forced into selling at least one star man per season to keep the books ticking over.
The youngster is yet to notch in the league this season but he did score the crucial winner over Bayern Munich in their Champions League group clash at the end of September.
The only logical reason why Carrasco might consider leaving Atletico Madrid is the lack of game time. The Belgian is still not a regular starter for the Spanish giants and Conte might be able to offer him that assurance at Chelsea.
Furthermore, if Atletico Madrid fail to convince him to sign a new deal, Chelsea could have their man for a very reasonable price of £35 million.
