Delhi Dynamos beat Chennaiyin FC by 3-1
Marcelinho’s brace (26’ and 34’) and a late strike from substitute Badara Badji (84’) was enough for Delhi Dynamos to open their Indian Super League (ISL) campaign with a victory over defending champions, Chennaiyin FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai. The home side did have a consolation goal by Dudu Omagbemi in the 32nd minute.
The first goal was scored by Marcelo Leite Pereira from a penalty spot foe Delhi Dynamos.

The visitors put in a strong performance as their pace and guile was too much for the Chennai defense to contend with.
Badara Badji scored the third goal and secure the victory for Delhi Dynamos.
This was Delhi’s first game of the season, and also the first for new gaffer Gianluca Zambrotta. They lined up in a 4-3-3 with Chinglensana Singh, Ruben Gonzalez, Anas Edathodika and Souvik Chakrabarti guarding keeper and captan Toni Doblas.
Minutes before half-time, Marcelinho should have completed his hat-trick when he got past the clueless Mohanraj but could only hit it right at Kerr. Both teams soon went into the tunnel after a frantic half with neither defense having a game to be proud of, especially the Chennaiyin backline.
Chennaiyin failed to get their first win of the season, as they have just a solitary point from two games played. But a lot of credit to Delhi whose pacy attack and prudent use of the ball won them the game comfortably.
