Moto Z and Z Play expected to be launched on October 4 in India.
The Moto Z series modular phones, which was unveiled at the Lenovo Tech World 2016 is coming to India on October 4. The much awaited flagship smartphone which cost less than their competitors Samsung s7 series and iPhone 7 series.
The flagship premium model which is the Moto Z has a Snapdragon 820 processor,4GB of RAM, weighs 136g and is the thinnest samartphone on the planet. Running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the Moto Z features a fingerprint scanner on the home button, sports a USB Type-C port, and doesn’t include the 3.5mm headphone jack, and a choice of 32GB or 64GB of storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and laser autofocus, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with front flash. It packs a 2600mAh battery that can deliver up to 30 hours of battery life, with TurboPower charging to give 8 hours of battery life in 15 minutes.
The Moto Z Play which is a mid range model has a Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 16MP camera (though a higher number, it doesn’t have optical stabilization and has a smaller aperture). It’s thicker, so there actually is a headphone jack and it weighs 165g. The screen is only full HD with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 403 pixels per inch, meaning compared to the Moto Z it’s not as sharp and apps like YouTube will max out at 1080p (instead of 1440p). The device also features a 3510mAh battery, which is considerably larger than that of the Moto Z . A Turbo Power charger will be included with both the devices, giving you up to 8 hours of usage with 15 minutes of charging, as per the company’s claims.
Expected price of the Moto Z is just above Rs 40000 ($650) and just below Rs 30000($450) for the Moto Z Play. Both the phones support Moto mods like JBL sound boost, Battery pack by Incipio etc which snaps on to the back of the phone.
