Real Madrid missed out on a record
Real Madrid missed out on a record.
Real Madrid missed out on a record-breaking 17th consecutive La Liga victory as they drew with Villarreal.
Score line Real Madrid 1 -1 Villarreal.Goals where scored by Ramos (48′ minutes) and Bruno (45’+1 minutes pen).
This was the first game in which Real’s ‘BBC’ front line of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo have all started together.
But the BBC were not able to fire which was the cause of their draw.
Villarreal stopped Real’s fluid passing game and forced them to resort to shots from distance.
It was a hard night for Ronaldo as he was not able to play at his best.
The first goal was from Bruno from a penalty spot. Ramos gave the penalty away by a rash tackle.
But he restore faith by scoring a goal from James Rodriguez’s 48th-minute corner.
Karim Benzema, Bale and Ronaldo all went close to inking Madrid’s latest entry into the history books, but their 16-match run, which began after February’s derby defeat to Atletico Madrid, puts them level with the mark set by Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona during the 2010-11 season.
Real Madrid is still at the top of the table and is two point clear above second place Sevilla.
